Races Regulations

ACCEPTENCE

By registering the athlete accepts the present regulations of the race, must respect them and obey the instructions of the organizing committee, the safety officers and the judges of the race.

PARTICIPATION RIGHT

Adult men and women over the age of 18 are eligible to participate for the 32km, 15km, 5km routes. Children from 15 to 17 years old have the right to participate in the 15 km route, from 11 to 17 years old they have the right to participate in the 5 km route and children up to 12 years old in the 1 km route.

CATEGORIES

Men (ages: 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+), Women (ages: 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+) for the categories of 32km & 15km.

Boys (ages: 15-17), Girls (ages: 15-17) for the 15Km category.

Men (age: 18+), Women (age: 18+) for the 5km category.

Boys (ages: 11-12, 13-14, 15-17), Girls (ages: 11-12, 13-14, 15-17) for the 5Km category.

Children (age: 5-12) for the 1Km category.

For a category to be valid there must be at least 6 entries. Otherwise, it is integrated with the previous one.

TIME OF HOLDING

The Andrus Beer Trail Race Festival will take place on the weekend of 14-16 June 2024 and consists of 4 races.

  • The first race, called Gerakones Challenge, is 30 kilometres long with a positive elevation of 1,789 metres and will be held on Saturday 15 June. The start will be given at 08:00 at Ormos Square which is located in Korthi Bay. The race closes 9 hours after the start.
  • The second race called Korthi Adventure with a length of 15 km and a positive altitude of 646 meters will be held on Sunday 16 June. The start will be at 09:00 at Ormos Square which is located in Korthi Bay. The race closes 5 hours after the start.
  • The third race called Grias Pidima Encounter with a length of 5 km and a positive altitude of 265 meters, will be held on Sunday 16 June. The start will be given at 09:30 at Ormos Square which is located in Korthi Bay. The race closes 2.5 hours after the start.
  • The children’s race called Future Champions with a length of 1 km will take place on Saturday 15 June. The start will be at 18:30 from the square of Ormos Korthi. The race closes 30 minutes after the start

The Award ceremony for the winners of the 30k & 1k categories will take place on Saturday at 19:30.

The award ceremony for the winners of the 15k & 5k categories will take place on Sunday at 13:00.

PARTICIPATION COST

The participation cost for the 32km is set at 35.00 Euros. (For group participations of more than 10 people, the amount of 25.00 Euros is set)

The participation fee for the 15km is set at 25.00 Euros. (For group participations of more than 10 people, the amount of 20.00 Euros is set)

The participation fee for the 5km is set at 15.00 Euros. (For group participations of more than 10 people, the amount of 10.00 Euros is set)

The participation cost for 1km is set at 5.00 Euros.

The participation fee for the 32km along with the 15km is set at 45.00 Euros.

The participation fee for the 32km along with the 5km is set at 40.00 Euros.

The participation is considered valid once all the entry forms have been sent to the race secretariat and the money has been deposited in the bank. In case of postponement or cancellation of the race for any reason you have two options:

  • Commit your entry for the next date set for the race you have chosen
  • Refund of your money to a bank account you will indicate to us (with a 2€ deduction for bank charges).

MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS

There is no limit to the maximum number of athletes that the event can accommodate. The last day for registration is Monday 3 June 2024.

ROUTES OF THE RACE

The Gerakones Challenge route is 32 km long with a positive elevation difference of 1,789 meters.

The Korthi Adventure route is 15 km long and has a positive elevation gain of 646 metres.

The Grias Pidima Encounter route with a length of 5 km and 265 metres of positive altitude difference.

The Future Champions route with a length of 1 km and 50 metres of positive altitude difference.

The routes follow asphalt, stone cobblestone paths, trails, heavy dirt roads and rocky terrain. They are signposted along their entire length and do not require any knowledge of orientation. The continuation of the correct route is aided by the regular signposting of the paths and their natural topography where present. In addition there will be: project tape, direction-change signs and mileage markers.

TIMING

The timing of the race has been undertaken by Chronosystems.

TIME LIMITS

Yes they exist for all races.

In the 32km race there is a time limit of 9 hours from the start. Also there are 3 intermediate blocking time limits. The first in Syneti in 2 hours and 40 minutes, the second in I.M. Panachrandou in 4 hours and 35 minutes and the third in Piso Meria in 7 hours and 35 minutes. Athletes who finish after the 9 hour mark are considered to have not completed the race and are disqualified.

In the 15km race there is a time limit of 4 hours from the start. There is also 1 intermediate blocking time limit in Piso Meria at 2 hours and 50 minutes from the start. Athletes who finish after the 5 hour limit are considered to have not completed the race and are disqualified.

In the 5km race there is a finish time limit of 2.5 hours from the start. Athletes who finish after the 2.5 hour mark are considered to have not completed the race and are disqualified.

In the 1km race there is a finish time limit of 30 minutes from the start.

Athletes who leave for any reason are obliged to inform the judge at the nearest control station. For a valid termination, what is mentioned in article 4 applies.

NUMBER OF ATHLETE

Each athlete is required to have his/her participation number on the front of his/her shirt, in a prominent place. The number may not be folded or altered in any way.

OVERTAKING ATHLETES

Any athlete who is approached by a faster athlete is obliged, if requested, to pull to the side in order to be passed quickly and safely.

HELP

Any external assistance, or artificial assistance of athletes to each other and the use of any motorized aid is prohibited. The use of batons, map, compass, GPS, mobile phone is allowed.

WASTES

It is strictly forbidden to dispose of any waste or packaging material along the route.

FOOD STATIONS

There will be 7 food stations on the 30k course and 3 stations on the 15k course where water, jelly and energy bars, fruit, beer, cola and isotonics will be provided to the participants and one station on the 5km course where water will be provided to the athletes.

CHECKING STATIONS

There will be 7 checking stations on the 32k course, 3 stations on the 15k course and one station on the 5km course where athletes are required to be registered by the judges. Any athlete who fails to pass even one control station will be considered invalid.

MANDATORY EQUIPMENT

The organisation does not oblige athletes to carry any specific equipment. However, for the 2 longer routes the following are recommended: Small rucksack, Windbreaker, Solid food, Water bag, Elastic bandage, Whistle.

PENALTIES

All of the following infringements will result in a penalty of disqualification:

OBJECTIONS

Objections for any reason can only be made by the athlete himself/herself no later than 30 minutes after the finish. The decision of the protest committee is final and no protests will be accepted.

COMMITTEE

The race committee, responsible for any problem or objection that may arise, are: Race Director, Organising Officer, Engraving Officer and Safety Officer.

SAFETY

The organisation monitors the route to avoid any unforeseen circumstances and provides medical assistance to athletes in need. A rescue team, a doctor and an ambulance will be on standby.

ROUTE MODIFICATION

The organiser may modify the route if for any reason there is a risk to the safety of the athletes. He may also delay the start or cancel the race due to bad weather or other force majeure.

TROPHIES

The top three winners in each category will receive a trophy and a medal. A medal will be given to everyone who finishes within the time limit of each course. Sponsors’ prizes (if any) will be given out in a drawing, based on the number of entries, after the awards are made and attended.

ADVERTISING-PHOTOGRAPHY-VIDEOSCOPING

With the application form, each athlete allows the organizer to photograph and videotape him/her during the race and the awards, for promotional purposes.

ABSOLUTION OF RESPONSIBILITY

The organizer is not responsible for the death, injury or any damage to the health of the participants who, by submitting the application form, declare that they are aware of the dangers that exist in the mountain environment, have the necessary experience to cope with them and that their state of health is good and allows them to compete. Each athlete is obliged to undergo regular medical check-ups. The organiser reserves the right to refuse to allow an athlete to complete the race if there is an opinion from the race doctor. Athletes are responsible for their own insurance.

AMENDMENT OF REGULATIONS

The organization reserves the right to modify these rules without prior notice if necessary. Under no circumstances will any change alter the style of the race.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Right of withdrawal (cancellation of participation at your own choice):
