The Andrus Beer Trail Race Festival announces mountain running races and parallel sports and cultural activities, which will take place on 14 – 16/06/2024, on the green island of the Cyclades, Andros and in the traditional settlement of Korthi.
The 1st Andrus Beer Trail Race Festival aims to highlight all those beneficial properties that the natural environment provides to humans and to make the tradition and history of the place known to young and old. In a landscape of incomparable beauty, it will give the opportunity to all friends of mountain running to enjoy 4 wonderful routes, of different distance, altitude difference and degree of difficulty that will surely fascinate them!
- The Gerakones Challenge, which is the long and demanding route of 30 km and 1790 m of positive altitude difference. The nature of the race route is technical, requires good physical condition and is aimed at well-trained runners with relevant mountain racing experience.
- The Korthi Adventure, which maintains all the characteristics of what we call trail running. With a length of 15 km and a positive altitude difference of 650 m, it is aimed at everyone and is considered ideal for your introduction to mountainous terrain.
- The Grias Pidima Encounter, which is an easy route with a total length of 5 km and a positive altitude difference of 265 m, purely recreational. Its goal is to bring asphalt racers to the trails of mountain races!
- Finally, Future Champions, which is 1 km long, is aimed at our little friends and aims to bring them into contact with nature and familiarize them with alternative forms of activities and sports.
Trail Pro has taken over the technical direction, taking care of the perfect signaling, the flow of the program and the safe movement of the athletes.
The electronic timing of the races has been undertaken by the company Chronosystems, they guarantee the quick and correct announcement of the results.
On the Gerakones Challenge and Korthi Adventure route there will be the following age categories:
Men (18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+) and Women (18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+)
In the Grias Pidima Encounter 5K route there will be Men’s, Women’s and Children’s (13-15), (16-18) categories
The first three category winners of each route will receive a cup and a medal, while all those who have a valid finish will receive a commemorative medal of the race.
Sponsor gifts will be raffled off to all participants.
Part of the proceeds will be allocated to the creation of the Kidney Disease Center on the island.
